I’m Drew Sainte Marie—part gondolier, part stand-up comedian, and full-time storyteller. For over 23 years, I rowed thousands of miles on Venetian gondolas (yes, the real deal) while mastering the art of entertaining passengers with humor, charm, and the occasional “That’s Amore!” moment.
After performing in thousands of date nights, anniversaries, marriage proposals, weddings, galas, and other unique events—most successful, some… let’s say memorable—I realized my true passion was for making people laugh. So I traded in canals for comedy clubs, setting my sights on Austin, the Live Comedy Capital of the world. Here, I’m chasing my dream of becoming a headlining comedian while showcasing everything that makes this city extraordinary.
In sunny SoCal—mainly with Black Swan Gondola in North County San Diego—I turned gondolas into floating stages. Whether it was calming nerves during a proposal or keeping spirits high when someone fell overboard (yes, that happened), I crafted stories that made every ride unforgettable.
But deep down, I felt the pull of a different stage. The spotlight. The sound of an audience erupting into laughter. So here I am in Austin, ready to conquer the murky waters of stand-up comedy, one open mic at a time.
